Did you know that antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the biggest threats to global health? According to the WHO, by 2050, deaths related to AMR could reach 10 million per year, affecting not only human health but also animal and environmental health. In the face of this challenge, we have teamed up with the pharmaceutical company Pfizer to educate future generations.
Through the “Health Without Resistance” program, launched in collaboration with the Colegio Almendral de La Pintana, we aim to raise awareness and empower young people to be part of the solution to this global challenge.
We kicked off the program with an educational day full of learning and emotions. Infectious disease specialist and Medical Leader of the Specialties and Internal Medicine Unit at Pfizer, Cecil Fandiño, not only shared her valuable professional experience but also inspired the students to understand AMR as a critical threat to global health. Moreover, the students didn’t just listen attentively; they also had the opportunity to engage in a practical experience. Through an interactive activity designed by Lab4U, using innovative tools like the Analiscopio and the Lab4U app, the students understood how antibiotics fight infections, while feeling the power of science in their hands, directly connecting theory with the real world of healthcare.
What’s most spectacular about this partnership is that it aims not only to educate but also to inspire the students to be agents of change. After the experience, the ideas that emerged among the students on how to act against AMR were truly surprising. From educating themselves to sharing what they learned with their families and communities, every suggestion reflected the desire to make a real and meaningful difference.
At Lab4U, we are committed to this project because we believe that by empowering new generations with the knowledge and tools they need, we are building a future where science is lived and shared. The “Health Without Resistance“ program is just the beginning of a growing collaboration with Pfizer, taking scientific education to new horizons because together we can make a difference.
See you in 2025!
