The Lab4Sea Program, an innovative collaboration between Lab4U and Camanchaca, has been supporting teachers and students since 2023 at Escuela Gabriela Mistral and Escuela Patrimonial California in Tomé, as well as Liceo Yobilo and Escuela Víctor Domingo Silva in Coronel. This initiative enhances science learning in classrooms by integrating technology as an ally through Lab4U’s educational tools and resources.
This program has marked a turning point in science education in the region, offering students and teachers a transformative learning experience. It strengthens their STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) while promoting sustainability awareness in their communities. Additionally, it provides educational experiences centered around the fishing industry and its production processes.
Beyond classroom activities, Lab4Sea has played a great role in supporting participating schools during the 2024 Regional Science, Technology, Robotics, and Environment Fair. A highlight of this event was the experiment titled “El viaje del Jurel” 🐟, which demonstrated to attendees the relationship between ocean currents and the behavior of jack mackerel, one of Camanchaca’s most renowned products.
The anticipation of future editions is an inspiring path to continue shaping new generations of young people committed to science and environmental commitment.
